Vacuum Pressure Impregnation (VPI)
In today’s ever-increasing battle to reduce costs, we have recognised that the VPI (Vacuum Pressure Impregnation) offers valuable benefits to our customers.
VPI is the process of forcing the specialised insulated resin into the winding under vacuum pressure conditions, resulting in a totally capsulated winding.
The winding to be treated is placed in the receiving vessel, sealed and evacuated of air, thus drawing the resin from the adjacent holding tank through the winding until totally submerged. After draining, the winding is stoved at 160 degrees centigrade for curing.
The VPI process can be applied to both existing and new windings, including new motors.
Advantages Of Vacuum Pressure Impregnation Include:
- Protection Against Hostile Environments Such As:
- Water
- Dust
- Vibration
- Heat
- Superior Electrical Protection Against Failure
- Improved Heat Dissipation
- Greater Winding Strength
